WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers this afternoon lost their second Muamba brother of the off-season, but this time it was their decision.

Three months after middle linebacker Henoc Muamba left the Bombers to sign with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, the Blue and Gold today cut his older brother, Cauchy, after he struggled as the team’s starting safety in 2013.

Cauchy Muamba was former GM Joe Mack’s biggest free agent signing last off-season, but he turned out to be a complete bust after leaving the B.C. Lions for a contract that paid him close to $100,000. He shied away from physical play at times and ended up losing his job towards the end of the season.

Muamba had two interceptions, 47 tackles, four special teams tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery.
