WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers named three members of their defensive staff Thursday morning.

Gary Etcheverry will be the team's sixth defensive co-ordinator in the last seven years, while Nelson Martin will coach the defensive backs and Mike Scheper will guide the defensive line. The Sun has previously reported all three hirings.

Etcheverry was Saskatchewan's defensive co-ordinator when they made back-to-back trips to the Grey Cup in 2009 and 2010, and Nelson and Scheper were both members of that staff in Regina.

Etcheverry's most recent football stint was as head coach of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in the fall of 2012, but he was fired after an 0-5 start. He has also been head coach of the Toronto Argonauts, as well as the defensive co-ordinator for the Argonauts, Ottawa Renegades, and B.C. Lions.
