WINNIPEG - Just three years removed from being named the CFL’s defensive player of the year, Jovon Johnson is no longer wanted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Johnson let his followers know on Instagram and Twitter that the Bombers will not be offering the import cornerback a contract for the 2014 season and beyond. Johnson will become a free agent tomorrow at 11 a.m.

“Crazy to get a voice message saying they had no intention on signing me back for next year, but I enjoyed my 6 years there and my time there is officially done!” Johnson wrote on his Instagram account.

“Thanks for all the great memories and friendships but now we must face one another! I look forward to my return to Winnipeg in 2014 just know that!!”
