OTTAWA - Wade Miller says the Ottawa RedBlacks can have Henry Burris if they want to pay him that much money.

The Winnipeg Football Club CEO figures Bomber fans will understand it's a good thing Winnipeg didn't offer a whopping $450,000 a year for the free agent quarterback like the Ottawa RedBlacks did on Tuesday, stealing him away from the Bombers. Winnipeg put $375,000 a year on the table for Smilin' Hank.

"You're not going to give that kind of compensation to somebody that's got a year or two left," Miller said Wednesday at the CFL Congress in the nation's capital. "I know our fans are educated and intelligent and will be able to see that and know that."

The first few months haven't gone the way Miller expected, but it's just going to make the former fullback put his head down and work even harder to turn the franchise around.
