WINNIPEG - As new Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea emerged from behind the curtain in the Wellington Ballroom of the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel on Wednesday afternoon, Bachman Turner Overdrive’s You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet blared from the speakers.

And it was fitting, because — double negatives aside — Bomber fans ain’t seen nothing for quite some time, including this year’s 3-15 record. That’s why fans are either over the moon about the O’Shea hiring or waiting to see if the man who guided Toronto’s special teams for the past four seasons can win more than he loses in Winnipeg. Some want to feel hope, while others are done hoping.

How O’Shea fares will be determined only over time, but belief inside the Bomber offices themselves hasn’t been this strong in quite some time.

“Mike O’Shea was very high on my list,” said general manager Kyle Walters, who first met O’Shea on a football field in Guelph, Ont., in 1992.
