WINNIPEG - The Blue Bombers have added another CFL veteran to their scouting department.
The Sun reported earlier today that Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Danny McManus was joining the Bombers as an assistant GM, and the team announced this afternoon that Ted Goveia will be a second assistant GM to Kyle Walters.
McManus will be in charge of U.S. scouting, while Goveia, who spent the last four years with the Toronto Argonauts, is familiar with Canadian talent. Goveia was Toronto’s director of player personnel and draft co-ordinator in 2013.
National scout Drew Morris, who has been with the organization for almost two years, will maintain his role, but the team will not be renewing the contract of director of player personnel Ken Moll.
Goveia joined the Argos in 2010 as an assistant coach and since then has been in charge of their recruitment strategies in both Canada and the U.S., and has scouted NFL pre-season camps.
