WINNIPEG - It was good to see Tim Burke spitting nails after Thursday's loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

The Bomber head coach was particularly peeved about the penalty parade his team produced in the 36-21 setback at Rogers Centre. It wasn't necessarily the reason for the loss, because it didn't matter where Ricky Ray was on the field. He invariably found a receiver in the end zone whether penalties helped him or not.

It should also be noted that the Argos had more penalty yards than the Bombers, but the Boatmen are 11-6 and hosting the East Final this year. It's a much bigger and longstanding problem in Winnipeg.

The stupid penalties, which have been happening for years, are just another reminder of how much the Bombers are in need of an overhaul. Burke said the infractions will be part of the evaluation of who stays and who goes, even though chances are slim he'll be back in 2014 himself.
