The position is in a state of flux right now, with last year's most outstanding player, Chad Simpson, out with a foot injury and his replacement, Will Ford, averaging only 51 yards per game in his absence.
The team's struggles on the offensive line no doubt factor into the running game woes, but the Blue and Gold seem to be missing that spark along the ground this season no matter who's hauling the rock.
In fact, since Fred Reid won the rushing title in 2010, the Bombers haven't had anybody finish among the league's top three rushers. Injuries have played a role, with Simpson missing games last season, Reid tearing his ACL in 2011 and Chris Garrett popping his Achilles tendon three days before the start of the 2012 campaign.
