WINNIPEG - The Bombers are going home to the West Division in 2014.
The CFL's board of governors approved the move Thursday.
The Bombers have spent 61 of their 83 seasons in the West Division or a version of it, so the return is natural. Most of Winnipegís best rivalries, including the one with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, were born in the division.
The Ottawa Redblacks will begin play in 2014, meaning the East will have four teams and the West will have five. Winnipeg shifted to the East Division in 2006 when the Ottawa Renegades folded, and they received $700,000 from the league to do so.
The CFL is not paying the Winnipeg Football Club this time around.
