REGINA - Mike Renaud doesn’t know what happened.

The Bombers trailed 38-25 with 4:45 to go in Sunday’s Labour Day Classic, and the Winnipeg punter inexplicably double-clutched on a punt attempt. Riders rookie Spencer Moore blocked the kick, recovered it at the Winnipeg 23-yard line, and Saskatchewan booted a field goal shortly thereafter to put the game on ice.

It was another low moment in an inconsistent season for Renaud, who wasn’t sure what went wrong on the play but hinted the snap from Ian Wild might have taken him out of his rhythm.

“I was punting to the left, and I’ll just have to see the film,” Renaud said. “I’m not sure what happened. I feel like I was pulled to one side and tried to recover, so I don’t know. I’ll just have to watch film. I need to be quicker. I can’t obviously double clutch it.

“For the rest of the guys, I can’t speak on what happened, but for myself, it’s unacceptable. I have to do better, watch the film and figure it out.”
