Everywhere Marcel Bellefeuille has gone in the CFL, his running back usually puts up monster numbers before getting a call from the NFL.

Kenton Keith, Jesse Lumsden and Marcus Thigpen all enjoyed success under Bellefeuille’s direction, and all ended up in the NFL. Chad Simpson would no doubt love to be the fourth, but he needs to get it going under the new Bombers offensive co-ordinator.

That quest begins Saturday afternoon when the 1-6 Bombers, losers of five in a row, visit the Ticats (3-4) at Guelph’s Alumni Stadium.

“That’s always exciting,” Simpson said of Bellefeuille’s past. “I actually played with one of them, Kenton Keith, at the Colts. So I’m pretty familiar with him, hearing stories from Kenton.”

Bellefeuille wasn’t making any promises Bomber fans will see the Simpson of 2012, who managed more than 1,000 rushing yards despite not playing a full season and was named the team’s most outstanding player.
