The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will return to the practice field on Thursday, and you can bet they will be working on getting Chad Simpson the ball more.
"I would like to see us run it more," head coach Tim Burke said. "We've had a lot of run-pass options. If they really load the box then we're going to throw it. The other thing is we tried to get Justin (Goltz) on the perimeter and use his athleticism more. So sometimes that takes away from Chad.
"Chad is a difference maker, and we need to find ways to get him the ball."
Even though it seems like he's not getting the ball enough, Simpson is still fourth in league rushing with 329 yards and four touchdowns in five games. His average per carry is a respectable 5.8 yards, and he also has 81 receiving yards on 13 catches.
