WINNIPEG - Don't be surprised to see both Justin Goltz and Bryant Turner starting on Friday night against the Calgary Stampeders.

Goltz guided the first-team offence for the second straight practice Tuesday with No. 1 quarterback Buck Pierce still nursing an abdominal bruise. If Pierce is able to practise on Wednesday, however, he'll start against the Stamps.

"Whoever takes the first-team reps (Wednesday) is the starting quarterback," head coach Tim Burke said.

If Goltz indeed gets the start, it looks like it will be against Calgary's third-string pivot Bo Levi Mitchell, who took most of the reps in Cowtown on Tuesday. Neither Goltz nor Mitchell has ever started a CFL game, so take the under.

As for Turner, the defensive tackle's status improved to probable for Friday. He missed the last two games with a chest ligament injury, but he felt good on Tuesday.
