Former running back Charles Roberts is going into the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Hall of Fame.

The franchise’s all-time leading rusher is one of three inductees this year, joining builders George Graham and Ralph Warrington.

Roberts burst upon the CFL scene in 2001 and didn’t leave until he’d been a divisional all-star seven times, a CFL all-star six times, the East Division’s top player and top rookie, and the CFL’s special teams player of the year.

The diminutive Californian led the league in rushing three times, posting 9,987 yards and 64 rushing touchdowns with the Bombers, passing the legendary Leo Lewis on the career list.

His 79 total touchdowns is second only to Milt Stegall.

Roberts finished his career with a season in B.C..

This year’s Hall class will be inducted during the team’s annual Legacy Dinner in September.
