Buck Pierce is ready to throw passes or hold a clipboard while three younger quarterbacks gain some experience on Wednesday night

Buck Pierce could have said he couldn’t quite figure out this or he was having trouble getting a grasp of that.

If he had said so, offensive co-ordinator Gary Crowton would have given him more reps in training camp. All he would have had to do was ask.

Pierce, however, understands Crowton’s new system quite well, which is why he’s been doing a lot of watching in training camp while the other three pivots pass the ball over and over again.

Bomber training camp has been all about the rapid development of Justin Goltz, Max Hall and Chase Clement, which has given Pierce plenty of time to be a spectator during team periods. It’s somewhat of an odd scenario; the other three quarterbacks are being developed at a faster pace than normal in case the injury-prone Pierce goes down once again.

Pierce, being the team guy that he is, has had no problem standing back and letting the other three strut their stuff.
