WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be hiring Craig Dickenson as their new special teams co-ordinator, according to a CFL source.

Dickenson resigned as the special teams co-ordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday morning. That came one day after Bombers head coach Tim Burke said he had settled on his new special teams co-ordinator but wasn’t ready to identify him.

Dickenson, who is the older brother of Calgary Stampeders offensive co-ordinator Dave Dickenson, worked with Burke and Bombers defensive co-ordinator Casey Creehan in Calgary.

It’s believed Craig Dickenson was ready to move on after a year under new Riders head coach Corey Chamblin. Word is Chamblin is a very demanding boss, whereas Burke will let Dickenson do his own thing on his own time as long as he gets results.

“My decision to resign is based on off-season commitments I have made that I intend to honour and also to a conflict of schedule which could not be worked out,” Dickenson said
