Cvet's Pets, run by Blue Bombers' Chris Cvetkovic, making a 'huge dent'

WINNIPEG - The Christmas season is full of kind acts, with people more willing to donate their time or money to worthwhile causes.

For Bombers long snapper Chris Cvetkovic, it doesn’t matter if it’s the 25th of December, the 8th of March or the 14th of September; he just might be Winnipeg’s top pro athlete when it comes to donating his time to charitable causes.

And now he is a bona fide friend of all animals in Winnipeg and beyond with the creation earlier this year of his charity, Cvet’s Pets.

The goal of the non-profit organization is to raise money and awareness for Winnipeg’s five no-kill animal shelters. It got going in February and has taken off quicker than he thought it would.

Rubbing off

“It’s even rubbing off on my kids now,” Cvetkovic said. “My daughter (five-year-old Payton) now tells people that I help save animals instead of telling them I play football. And I’d rather her know me for that.
