WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to make nips and tucks to their roster leading up to Wednesday’s start of rookie camp.
The Blue and Gold released non-import fullback James Green on Thursday and signed import receiver Paul Hubbard, a sixth-round NFL draft pick in 2008.
Green was one of Winnipeg’s top special teams players over the last year and a half, registering 29 special teams tackles in 26 games.
Hubbard is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound pass catcher who played for the University of Wisconsin Badgers. The Cleveland Browns drafted him in the sixth round in 2008, but he spent that season on their practice roster.
He played in one game for the Buffalo Bills in 2010, making one catch for eight yards.
The Bombers on Thursday also announced their guest coaches for training camp. Former Winnipeg linebacker Donnovan Carter, Bomber punting legend Bob Cameron, ex-CFLer Glen Young, and American college coaches Steve Hladio and Joe Loth will help out the coaching staff when camp gets underway next Sunday.
