Never mind the fact that the Blue Bombers have already beaten Hamilton three straight this season.

They wouldn’t care if they were 0-3 against the Tiger-Cats who come to town to challenge the top team in their division in the East Final this Sunday. That’s because this is a confident collection of combatants.

“That’s (3-0 over Hamilton) a great accomplishment but the bottom line is, you’ve got to finish,” Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice said Monday. “Certainly, I think our players think they can beat anybody in this league, not just a team they beat a couple of times.

“But you have to play well and you have to be ready for that. Certainly, the message for those guys has got to be what’s past is gone. It doesn’t matter. What matters is our focus and our prep for this week knowing we’re facing a very hungry football team.”

But, remember that this is a Bomber team that went from 4-14 last season to one win away from appearing in the Grey Cup.

“We’re just excited with the process,” LaPolice said. “It’s a lot of fun around here right now because you get one win and you can advance. I think we’re doing everything in our power to make sure we’re prepared.”

The Bombers do not return to practice until Tuesday but the quarterbacks were already throwing to the receivers covered by the defensive backs on the weekend.

ALMOST SOLD OUT: The team announced Monday that there were less than 1,000 tickets left for Sunday’s final.
