TORONTO - A pair of Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the four-player class of top CFL players for the opening week of the 2011 season.

Defensive back Alex Suber took home defensive player of the week honors for a 66-yard interception return for a touchdown which helped the Bombers take a 24-16 victory over Hamilton on Friday.

Safety Ian Logan snagged top Canadian honors after picking off a pair of passes and recording three tackles as his club shocked the Tiger-Cats at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Canada Day.

The two-time defending champion Montreal Alouettes boast the league's top offensive player in slotback Jamel Richardson. He finished with nine receptions for a career-best 162 yards and two second-quarter touchdowns as the Als claimed a 30-26 decision over British Columbia.

B.C. Lions running back Tim Brown claimed the special-teams award. The Temple product ended the loss to Montreal with three kick returns for 50 yards and five punt returns for 132 yards -- including a 97-yard punt return for a TD early in the third quarter.
