Henoc Muamba had trouble sleeping on Saturday night, he was so excited to get the show on the road.

Sunday night’s sleep likely wasn’t going to be a problem after his first day of main Bomber camp.

“I feel like it’s something I could get used to,” the first overall draft pick said with a smile.

“Obviously it’s the first time and I kind of got my eyes opened, but I believe I can play at this level.”

If trying to stop CFL rushing king Fred Reid wasn’t cool enough, the 4,000 or so spectators who showed up to watch the practise was the icing on the linebacker’s cake.

“I’m just loving it, the fact that all the fans are taking it seriously,” said Muamba, noting he’s never had so many people watching him practie. “It’s good for the players to see it, too.”

Head coach Paul LaPolice liked what he saw from their No. 1 selection.

“Henoc was flying around today,” he said.

PIVOT WATCH: Starting quarterback Buck Pierce threw the ball with precision on opening day, but LaPolice also liked what he saw from his backups.

“Joey Elliott, Alex Brink and Justin Goltz all showed some great things today,” the coach said.

“Joey Elliott’s got really good instincts and has a good understanding where to go with the football.”

HURTIN’: Three receivers and a linebacker were unable to take part in Sunday’s practice.

Pass catchers Tim Brown (foot), Liam Mahoney (hamstring) and Damian Sherman (hamstring) watched the workout, as did linebacker Rico McCoy (illness).

Brown is out indefinitely, Sherman is expected to miss a couple of days, and Mahoney could be out longer than that. McCoy could be back on Monday.
