The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of four players Tuesday, including non-import kicker Rene Paredes.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Paredes, 26, spent four seasons at Concordia University, where he was good on 54 of 71 career field goals. He was a Quebec league all-star in 2007, when he ranked first in the CIS, hitting 88% of his tries.
Import receiver Clarence Denmark (5-foot-11, 187 pounds) spent the past two pre-seasons with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, making their practice roster for several weeks.
Also a kick returner, Denmark’s college career included two seasons at Arkansas-Monticello. He’s 25.
Arrington Hicks (5-9, 177 lbs.) is a 22-year-old import defensive back from Eastern Michigan, where he recorded 104 tackles and three interceptions.
Chayce Elliott (5-10, 185 lbs.) is a Canadian defensive back who transferred from Western Washington University to the University of Ottawa. He was a first-team all-star with 26 tackles and four interceptions last season.
