The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up one of their key offensive weapons through the 2012 season.
The Bombers signed receiver Terrence Edwards to a contract extension Friday.
Edwards had a huge season in 2010, hauling in 78 passes for 1,372 yards and 12 touchdowns.
“Winnipeg has been great to me ever since I first joined their organization,” said the two-time CFL All-Star, Edwards. “I feel as though this team has the right pieces in place in order to be successful and I’m very excited for what we will be able to accomplish on the field in the coming years.”
Edwards has been with the Bombers since 2007 and has had three 1,000-yard seasons in his four years with the team.
“Terrence is an outstanding receiver and one of the best in the CFL,” said Vice-President and General Manager Joe Mack. “We’re excited to extend his contract so that he can remain a Blue Bomber and act as a mentor to the young receivers on our team. He is a true professional both on and off the field, and retaining his veteran leadership is a great positive for our organization.”
