It appears the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up another free agent starter.
Centre Obby Khan and the Bombers have agreed to terms on a new deal. Although it is not yet official, a team source said they hope to finalize it in the next day or so.
Making the negotiations difficult was the fact that Khan is in Pakistan on a family vacation.
Khan has said all along that he wanted to remain in Winnipeg, and the two sides obviously bridged the gap in talks. Khan wanted more guaranteed money, while the Bombers were offering an incentive-laden deal.
Sportsnet reported that Khan will earn $130,000 per year, including a signing bonus.
Once Khan puts his signature on his deal, it will leave middle linebacker Joe Lobendahn as Winnipeg's last free agent.
The Bombers and Lobendahn are in talks to get a new contract done.
