Doug Brown is returning to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for an 11th season.

The defensive lineman has been the Bombers Most Outstanding Canadian nominee for the past five seasons.

"There is a lot of upside for this ball club," said Brown in a media release. "And whether that amounts to a championship in 2011 or not, I would not be interested in returning if I didn't see tremendous opportunity for this season and a chance for the Blue and Gold to return to the caliber of play that so many expect from us in this community."

In his 10 seasons with the Bombers, Brown has 397 tackles, 18 tackles for losses, 11 fumble recoveries, nine forced fumbles and 49 sacks, good for third on the team's all-time list.

He's been a CFL all-star seven times, has been the East Division's Most Outstanding Canadian three times and was the league's Outstanding Canadian in 2001.

"We're very happy to have Doug back for another season," said head coach Paul LaPolice. "Not only can he still produce on the field but his leadership in our locker room is something that you can't replace. He is a consummate professional and a player our young guys look up to."
