Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive co-ordinator Kavis Reed will be the new head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos.

QMI Agency has learned Reed has agreed to terms with Eskimos GM Eric Tillman.

A news conference is expected Friday in Edmonton.

Reed, who spent last season running the Bomber defence under head coach Paul LaPolice, has previously worked with Tillman. He also played in Edmonton, where his wife and two kids are still based.

Under Reed, the Winnipeg defence was ranked second in the CFL this past season, giving up 344.6 yards per game. However, Winnipeg was ranked sixth as a team in points allowed, with 485.
