The Winnipeg Blue Bombers didn’t have a great year on the field this year, but Luke Fritz scored a monster victory on Wednesday.
The backup offensive lineman won $50,000 for Winnipeg Harvest’s Hunger for Hope initiative after capturing the CFL’s Pepsi Refresh Project.
Fritz beat Saskatchewan’s Rob Bagg in the final of the online voting contest. Each CFL team started with one representative.
Fritz actually bagged $60,000 for winning, as the Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg announced earlier this week that it would add $10,000 to the kitty if Fritz emerged victorious.
The money will go to supplying baby formula to those who can’t afford it.
