Troy Westwood will soon compete on a TV game show in an effort to raise money for charity.

The former Winnipeg Blue Bombers' kicker will head to Argentina later this month for a week of filming for the TV show Wipeout, which sees contestants run through elaborate obstacle courses that, if run unsuccessfully, can often find them knocked into a pool.

Westwood is one of 260 Canadians and 13 Manitobans who will be competing for a $50,000 grand prize.

He said Monday that if he wins, he will give the money to the Manitoba Association of Women's Shelters.

"Hopefully, if we can go there and win this thing, we can do something wondeful for the community," Westwood said.

The episode featuring Westwood will likely air some time in the spring, he said.
