The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without placekicker Louie Sakoda on Friday night for their critical game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats due to a pulled calf.

It’s unknown when the injury occurred.

The Bombers signed Sakoda on Tuesday, the same day they released Alexis Serna after he made only eight of 14 field goals to start the season.

Sakoda punted for the Saskatchewan Roughriders late last season and early this season. He was a star placekicker at the University of Utah.

Punter Mike Renaud and linebacker Chris Smith were practising kickoffs during the pre-game warmup.
