Bombers fullback Daryl Stephenson who caught one pass for 30 yards, scored on a one-yard touchdown run and recorded a special teams tackle against Montreal is still adjusting to being converted from tailback.

I felt great, he said. I was happy that I got on a lot of special teams and I was happy to be able to get in there and show that I can cover kicks and tackle people. I feel happy that I was able to touch the ball again. Its been a couple of years and it was fun, and I was happy I was able to take advantage of some opportunities that I got.

The CIS career leading rusher as a tailback has beefed up to 242 pounds, about 15 more than he weighed in at last year to be able to better handling blocking.

He does (have running skills) but he does have to pick up his fullback skills, LaPolice said. But he did a good job. When he had the ball in his hands, he made plays and thats what you have to do. Then, on special teams, he hustled.
