It appears the Blue Bombers have lost punter Mike Renaud for the rest of the season.

Although the team hasn't made it official, the Sun has learned Renaud tore his ACL in Monday's win in Hamilton.

The 26-year-old Ottawa product has given the Bombers consistent punting this season, particularly his ability to hit the sidelines. He's also developed a reputation has a hard-nosed tackler, and that's how he hurt his knee: covering a punt.

The injury will likely force field goal kicker Alexis Serna to do double duty.

Serna, having a tremendous season, struggled as a rookie last year when he handled both the place kicking and punting chores.

Bombers running back Fred Reid says his leg injury is not serious and he could be back Sunday against the B.C. Lions.
