Linebacker Barrin Simpson, who just returned to the Blue Bombers on Wednesday, is practising as the starting middle linebacker at today's practice.

Linebacker Joe Lobendahn, who is nursing a hamstring injury, is nowhere to be seen, which is a pretty strong indication that Simpson will start against the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton on Thanksgiving Monday. That is just two days before the CFL trade deadline.

Just in case anyone has forgotten, the Simpson saga started when the player first asked to be traded before the Labour Day Classic.

Defensive end Gavin Walls (knee) is not practising, either -- which would suggest that he will miss Monday's match. Phillip Hunt is lining up at one defensive end spot and defensive end Chase Ortiz is on the practice field. Ortiz had been cut out of training camp.

Meanwhile, slotback Terrence Edwards, who missed the last two games with a concussion, is practising full out.
