Four players and two coaches who take the field for Winnipeg tonight were wearing Edmonton Eskimos colours last season.
"I get a little adrenaline rush playing against the Eskimos," said Blue Bombers head coach Mike Kelly, an Edmonton assistant last year. "And I'm sure those guys will have a little adrenaline rush against us, too, because of our relationship not only with coaches but with players who have gone back and forth."
Bomber linebackers Siddeeq Shabazz and Derrick Doggett, cornerback Keyuo Craver and receiver Brock Ralph played for the Eskies, while assistant coach Rick Campbell was also an assistant in Edmonton last season.
"I'd try to lie and say I'm even-headed," Shabazz said. "It's kind of like, when you're going against your brother, you get extra competitive so going against these guys will be fun -- probably a lot of trash talking but it will be all in fun."
Craver had a more serious outlook.
"I won a Grey Cup with a lot of them," he said. "Obviously, we need this win so it's business first. So, as much as I like them, they're coming to beat us and take money away from me so, we can't have that."
