Siddeeq Shabazz was back on the practice field Wednesday.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers outside linebacker missed last week’s 31-23 loss to the Calgary Stampeders after bruising his left foot in a 13-12 win over the Toronto Argonauts on Aug. 1.

Shabazz, who leads the Bombers with four interceptions, may be back, but there are a handful of players who are spectators in the sweltering heat.

Wide receiver Aaron Hargreaves is watching practice for the second straight day, cornerback James Johnson is on the sidelines with a boot on his right foot after getting hurt in practice on Tuesday, and centre Obby Khan is out with a bruised knee.

The Bombers host the league-leading Montreal Alouettes on Saturday night at Canad Inns Stadium. The Alouettes are eight-point favourites.
