The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have made room for Michael Bishop by releasing third-string quarterback Richie Williams.
Williams joined the Bombers in early June after the team cut Ryan Dinwiddie. He got into one game, last Friday's 19-5 loss to Toronto, and had the best outing of all three pivots, which isn't saying much.
The Bombers also released veteran defensive tackle Tyrone Williams on Wednesday morning.
The defensive tackle became expendable when rookie Dorian Smith exploded on to the scene with his strong play, which included three sacks in Friday's loss to the Argos.
The Bombers (1-3) meet the Argos (2-2) on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre.
