STAR OF THE DAY
One day after officially being declared the Bombers No. 1 pivot, quarterback Stefan LeFors sure looked the part. He made all the right decisions and dropped some soft passes into spots where only the receivers could snare them.
CATCH OF THE DAY
Arjei Franklin showed great awareness when he ran an out route, turned around just as the ball was arrived and deftly kept his feet in bounds to make the sweet grab.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
"As good of a natural athlete that he is, there's still some maturing to be done."
-- Director of player personnel John Murphy, on released kick returner Ramonce Taylor
DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT
The Bomber receivers and kick returners must have dropped at least a dozen balls yesterday. Maybe it's because it was unlucky Day 13. Or maybe they were just too relaxed because they didn't get told to bring their playbook to the coach's office earlier in the day.
The Bombers cut 12 players yesterday, but they didn't do anything to help control the Johnson population. There are still four players in camp with the surname of Johnson -- James, Jasper, Jovon and Riall.
The Bombers actually cut 13 players yesterday, as receiver Chris Jackson, who left the team last week because of a family issue, has also been let go. Receiver Kyle Smith has also been released but is sticking around to rehab his hamstring injury and could be a practice roster player if needed.
The Bombers have their final two-a-day of training camp today, with workouts at 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
