STAR OF THE DAY

Quarterback Stefan LeFors is showing why he's going to be the opening-day starter. He may not have a cannon of an arm, but he finds the open man and gets the ball to him.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Kick returner-receiver Ramonce Taylor made a slick, sliding grab in the morning workout that drew oohs and ahhs, and he showed superb hands the rest of the day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that. I might be rich."

-- Quarterback Richie Williams, when asked how many times he gets mistaken for actor Will Smith

OUT OF ACTION

LB Siddeeq Shabazz and K Dan Giancola remain on the disabled list since they were injured when they showed up for camp. Giancola should practise today for the first time, while Shabazz (ankle) will likely miss next Wednesday's pre-season game against Hamilton.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Sixth-round draft pick Thaine Carter suffered a dislocated shoulder on Monday and may need surgery. Either way, he will miss at least six weeks. As a result, he is likely to return to Queen's University in the fall.

A TRADITION RETURNS

The new Bomber regime is bringing back the Blue and Gold scrimmage after several years without it. This year's game will take place Friday night at the Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.

THE SCHEDULE

Two practices today, at 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The public is welcome to watch at Canad Inns Stadium.
