Day One

STAR OF THE DAY

Wide receiver Adarius Bowman, who came over from Saskatchewan in the Dan Goodspeed trade, was spectacular on opening day, making several superb catches.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Bowman wins the award for his one-handed snag during the morning workout. He fought off the coverage of Willie Amos and secured a Darrell Hackney pass with one arm at his side.

Reports out of Regina yesterday indicated that the Roughriders have contacted quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie, released by the Bombers on Saturday.

WALKING WOUNDED

Kickers Alexis Serna (ankle) and Dan Giancola (groin), S Brady Browne (flu), LB Siddeeq Shabazz (ankle), WR Kyle Smith (hamstring) and DB Darrius Battles (foot) didn't practise yesterday. Smith will be out for a couple of weeks, while the others are day-to-day.

The Bombers brought in two players yesterday, and they were both born on March 19. DB Ronyell Whitaker was born in 1979, and QB Richie Williams entered the world four years later.

THE SCHEDULE

The Bombers practise twice today, at 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Both workouts are two hours long.
