Beware of Baggs.

Winnipeg defensive end Stevie Baggs caught a pair of would-be thieves in the act of breaking into teammate Juran Bolden's vehicle in the parking lot outside of the Blue Bombers office Saturday afternoon.

"I did what somebody else would do for me, that's all," Baggs said with a shrug yesterday. "I just saw some guys breaking into my teammate's vehicle and told them to basically, 'Get the heck out of here.' They jumped into their vehicle and tried to leave. I punched a hole in the driver-side window and grabbed the driver."

However, the passenger had a screwdriver and Baggs was worried that he would get stabbed so he let them go. Their licence plate was covered.

"I didn't hurt my hand," the 6-foot-1, 241-pound Baggs assured. "Just a few little cuts here and there ... Hopefully, they'll stay away."

Although the thieves broke the back window of Bolden's vehicle, nothing was stolen.

"They were trying to break in when Stevie nabbed them," said the cornerback. "That was big of him ... I'm going to call him my little watchdog."
