GAME NOTES

TOP OFFENSIVE PLAYER

Winnipeg quarterback Kevin Glenn, after a sluggish start, led a spirited comeback that just fell short with the Charles Roberts fumble in the last minute of play. Glenn completed 21 of 32 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns, with one late interception behind a revamped offensive line.

TOP DEFENSIVE PLAYER

Bomber linebacker Cam Hall had a solid outing, recording six defensive tackles and one special teams tackle.

TOP SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER

Winnipeg's Rob Pikula, who handled both the punting and placekicking chores with placekicker Troy Westwood a healthy scratch, did the job expected. He punted for a 39.8-yard average, despite a strong wind, and usually placed his punts well. Pikula also booted a 10-yard field goal.

KEY PLAY

The Bombers were driving for what could have been the tying touchdown (with a two-point convert) when B.C. linebacker Otis Floyd ripped the ball out of the arms of Winnipeg tailback Charles Roberts at the B.C. one with 47 seconds left.

SMACK OF THE MATCH

B.C. defensive back Ryan Phillips laid a lick on Bombers slotback Milt Stegall after he caught an eight-yard pass. Stegall still hung on to the ball, though.

HIGHLIGHT REEL

Bombers wide receiver Terrence Edwards grabbed a ball that tipped up off O'Neil Wilson's hands, then raced into the end zone for a 35-yard third-quarter touchdown to pull Winnipeg to within 19-11 in the third quarter.
