TOP OFFENSIVE PLAYER

Bombers receiver Derick Armstrong made a triumphant return to his old hometown, hauling in 13 catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Several of his catches would be filed under the "tough" category.

TOP DEFENSIVE PLAYER

Winnipeg's Tom Canada came to play in his favourite game of the year. The fourth-year defensive end had three sacks, a forced fumble and a tackle, and for the most part kept Riders quarterback Kerry Joseph from getting loose.

TOP SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER

Depending on how you want to look at it, Corey Holmes was either stellar in his return to Pile o' Bones or he simply took advantage of Winnipeg's struggling cover teams. Holmes averaged 22 yards on four kickoff returns and 15.4 yards on five punt returns.

KEY PLAY

Kerry Joseph's 27-yard touchdown run on a draw play with six seconds left was the clincher. Even though the Riders were on the Bombers' 27-yard line and trailing by two, Luca Congi's 34-yard field goal attempt -- into the wind -- would not have been automatic.

HIGHLIGHT REEL

In a game full of huge plays -- there were 15 that went for 20 yards or more -- Charles Roberts' one-handed grab on a Kevin Glenn pass in the second quarter was worth a second look.

SMACK OF THE GAME

There was a serious mid-air collision when Bombers slotback Milt Stegall went up for a pass in the fourth quarter and met Riders cornerback James Johnson, who was shaken up on the play.
