STAR OF THE DAY

We'll give the nod to spitfire defensive end Brian Guebert, who had an interception yesterday and apparently has a good chance at surviving Saturday's final cuts despite being a last-minute camp addition.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Blair Atkinson showed great concentration when he bobbled an incoming pass but still managed to haul in the pigskin with defensive back Jazzmen Williams draped all over him.

HIT OF THE DAY

Offensive lineman Andrew Greene and linebacker Cam Hall made a loud smack when they plowed into each other on a running play. Despite weighing 100 pounds fewer than Greene, Hall remained on his feet.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"I don't really say anything. He'll tell me. He'll be like, 'Armstrong, get it together.' My job is to listen to him."

-- Bombers receiver Derick Armstrong, discussing his on-field relationship with slotback Milt Stegall

BATTLE OF THE DAY

SAFETY

The clash for the starting spot appears to be down to two Canadian contenders: second-year Bomber Ian Logan and Jason Nugent, who was acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Eskimos earlier this spring. Head coach Doug Berry said yesterday that Logan has the upper hand, "but it's still pretty close." If neither Logan nor Nugent instill enough confidence in the coaching staff, Kyries Hebert will be shifted back to safety, his natural spot, from his current position of linebacker.John Sullivan and Greg Bearman are also at safety on the depth chart, but they are likely shooting for special teams spots now.
