For a team that lost both of its starting cornerbacks over the winter, the Bombers seem quite comfortable with their replacements.

Omar Evans was released and Stanford Samuels signed as a free agent in Edmonton, but the Blue and Gold appear to be in good hands when it comes to those who will be patrolling the sidelines in the secondary.

Robert Bean led the Bombers with four interceptions last season, which was quite a feat considering he missed much of training camp with an injury and then was primarily a backup for the rest of the season.

Anthony Malbrough, meanwhile, moved over to the corner from halfback after the Bombers signed free agent Davin Bush out of Saskatchewan.

Bean and Malbrough are the front-runners, while sophomore CFLer Jazzmen Williams and free-agent signee Greg Moss will be the ones pushing them.

"Our corners are looking good," slotback Milt Stegall said yesterday. "Bean, he's always solid, and Jazzmen Williams is making some plays."
