The Grey Cup has yet to be sold out but the host committee is already setting up hotel rooms outside the city for out-of-town fans.

About 37,000 seats have been sold for the CFL championship, to be played here Nov. 19, which is about 8,000 short of capacity. But most of the downtown hotels have already been booked.

So, organizers have made arrangements with hotels in Portage la Prairie, Steinbach and Gimli, Blue Bombers director of marketing Jerry Maslowsky confirmed yesterday.

"We're working with the hotels to arrange shuttles to Winnipeg," he said.

Meanwhile, more than half of the 15,000 temporary seats in the south endzone have been sold, Maslowsky said.

HASHMARKS: LB Donnavan Carter will likely return to the lineup this week ... CB Robert Bean will replace the injured Stanford Samuels again this week ... DL Ron Warner took some turns at practice but is still nursing an injury.
