The Hogs have gone American.

To combat their injury woes, the Blue Bombers will employ three American offensive linemen when they face the Alouettes in CFL action in Montreal this Sunday, Winnipeg head coach Doug Berry confirmed yesterday.

Garrick Jones will remain at tackle, Eric Wilson will move from tackle to guard and Jermese Jones will be added. Just who Jones will replace remains to be seen. Berry was being coy about other changes, which could include Neil McKinlay starting at weak-side linebacker.

BACK TO GUARD

"I came in and tried to learn tackle and two weeks later, it's, 'All right, back to guard,'" Wilson said. "It's good to be back to the position where I'm comfortable but you've got to be prepared for both of them. It's more weight on the back but it's all good.

"I think I did good for not having played (tackle) before. There's a lot more space out there but there's a little less banging around. Once you get back to guard, it's, 'OK, strap it up, here they come.' You've got a lot of stuff going on inside. So, it will be interesting. It's good to be back home."

McKinlay, meanwhile, was not about to give anything away.

"I'm willing to do whatever it takes for this team to win, whether it's playing special teams or whatever role that may be," said the non-import.
