The Sun's Kirk Penton sat down with Bombers punter/placekicker Troy Westwood to learn a little more about him, including why he keeps up with Susan, Lynette, Bree, Gabrielle and Edie on a weekly basis, how he may have sold you a food product in the 1980s and why we're dying to find someone who was at a certain University of Winnipeg social on March 21, 1987.
Favourite Canadian? Jamie Stoddard.
First car? Austin Marina. They're rare. It had pinstripes. It was my 16th birthday present from my parents. Faded red. It was nothin' pretty.
Dream car? I don't really care about vehicles a whole lot. I'll take my Honda Civic, and I'm OK with that.
Sexiest movie star? Of all time?
Sure. Raquel Welch.
What's your cellphone ringtone? Peace Frog, by the Doors.
Best word to describe you growing up? Chicks.
TV show you're ashamed to say you watch? I don't watch TV. Well, Desperate Housewives in the off-season -- only in the off-season.
Which Bomber has the most style? I'd have to give that to Milt Stegall.
Which Bomber would you want with you in a bar-room brawl? Former Bomber: David Black. Current Bomber: Ron Warner.
Who would play you in the movies? Geez, I don't know, man. A young Marlon Brando.
Food you will not eat? Liver.
Does Barry Bonds deserve to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame? Yes.
What do you miss most about college? Friends-slash-chicks.
Best day of your life? I played the Pine Ridge Oglala Lakota Nation in South Dakota to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the shootout that saw Leonard Peltier imprisoned. I would have rather played there than at Wembley Stadium. It was just an absolute honour. But my life's pretty good, so maybe every day.
How many pairs of shoes do you own? Probably about 10 or 12.
Most famous person in your cellphone directory? I'd have to go with my sister, Tara, on that one. She's been on CSI: Miami and Grownups, the movie. You can rent it at Blockbuster.
First job? Walking up and down these stairs (at Winnipeg Stadium) selling popcorn, peanuts and drinks for Ritz Foods. I was a hell of a peanut salesman, I'll tell you that.
Favourite dog breed? I'd have to say I don't have one.
Childhood nicknames? Driftwood, Threewood, Leftwood.
Last movie you saw in a theatre? An Inconvenient Truth. It was outstanding. It should be mandatory viewing for everyone in high school.
Favourite thing about the CFL? It's Canadian.
What's in your CD player right now? I think Kanye West is in it at this moment.
Favourite movie of all time? Thunderheart.
What scares you? Not living my life to the fullest.
Last big purchase? My groceries last week? I'm not a big toy guy.
Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston? Jolie. Hands down.
Most embarrassing moment? It was March 21, 1987, at a U of W social, from about 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning. And that's really all I can say about that.
