QUOTE OF THE DAY

"It's tough because he's never done it. When you're on the edge, there's only one guy blocking you in only one direction. But when you're in the middle, there's three guys that can get you from every angle and a lot of double teams. So that's all new to him but I think he attacked it with a fervour today and that's encouraging ... He can do it."

-- Bombers head coach Doug Berry on veteran Ron Warner's conversion to defensive tackle from defensive end

STAR OF THE DAY

Two defensive guys returning from injury stood out. LB Ron Ockimey made several plays, including an interception and a sack. LB/DB Cedric Dickerson also made a few good plays, including an interception. Also having strong days were LBs Travis Ortega, DEs Tom Canada, Gavin Walls and Stevie Baggs. Offensively, RBs Charles Roberts and Henri Childs, WR Albert Johnson III and SB Scott Robinson had their moments.

PLAY OF THE DAY

WR Albert Johnson III made the catch of the week. Johnson flew into the air, stretching his whole body out for a Brad Banks pass, which he caught in mid-air, fell to the ground, then got up and raced for a touchdown. Honourable mention to WR Andrae Thurman, who leapt up in the air above traffic to grab a Mike Quinn toss and fell to the ground while maintaining possession.
