It doesn't sound like Jim Daley's little chat with "wired" Bomber lineman Mike Abou-Mechrek got very far.
Abou-Mechrek has had this game against his former team circled on his calendar for months, and the Bomber head coach said Wednesday he'd have to remind the aggressive lineman to control himself tonight.
"As soon as I walked in this morning, he pulled me aside," Abou-Mechrek said yesterday. "It was like, 'You gotta compose yourself and be cool out there,' and all the rest. I just looked at him, and I said, 'Do you not know me? That's when I play my best, when I'm on the edge, where you don't know whether I'm going to get kicked out of the game.' I anticipate I'm going to be walking that thin line. It's going to be something."
And Daley's response?
"He walked away with a smile on his face," Abou-Mechrek said. "And was like, 'Good. That's why we brought you here.' "
