PLAYERS OF THE GAME: OFFENCE -- Winnipeg SB Milt Stegall made a number of drive-sustaining catches. He also hauled in a touchdown, his third in the past two games.

TURNING POINT:

Clinging to a one-point lead late in the third quarter, the Bombers defence stepped up. Cornerback Eric Carter walked in front of a Khari Jones pass and took it 46 yards for a 24-16 lead.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Ex-Calgary receiver Kamau Peterson blasted Stamps DB Terrence Moore with a massive open-field block late in the fourth quarter. Peterson ended up worse for wear and stayed down on the turf for several minutes.

CATCH OF THE GAME:

Late in the opening quarter, Winnipeg WR Robert Gordon made a nice sliding grab to set the Bombers up with a first-and-goal at the Calgary nine-yard line. Former Stamps FB Scott Regimbald scored two plays later.

NOTABLES:

Rookie WR Nik Lewis surpassed the 1,000-yard mark with 1:13 remaining in the second quarter. He is the first Stampeders freshman receiver to pass the mark since Marc Boerigter did it in 2000. Lewis is Calgary's 2004 nominee for rookie of the year. Boerigter now plays with the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL ... Stamps C Jamie Crysdale played in his 205th consecutive game ... The announced attendance was 23,119, although there were far fewer in the seats at chilly Canad Inns Stadium ... K Clinton Greathouse had a four-yard punt into the stiff wind midway through the fourth quarter, which caused havoc on both sides of the ball ... Winnipeg inducted three people into the Bombers Hall of Fame at halftime: DB Darryl Sampson (1986-95), OL David Black ('85-'94) and director Ken Houssin ('88-present).
