TOP OFFENSIVE PLAYER

Bomber QB Kevin Glenn spoiled the home-coming party for Khari Jones. His 75-yard, nine-play drive (capped off by a 25-yard pass to WR Kamau Peterson) into the wind in the second quarter was his best showing on the night. He ended the day going 15-of-20 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He showed a lot of composure in the face of his predecessor. Honourable mention to SB Milt Stegall (6 catches, 106 yards, and a touchdown).

TOP DEFENSIVE PLAYER

Though he wasn't flashy, LB Mo Kelly made life miserable for the Stamps offensive unit. He sacked Jones in the first quarter and added four tackles. His roughing-the-passer penalty on his former teammate in the final quarter brought a rise from the crowd, too. Honourable mention to DE Elfrid Payton for registering the first sack on Khari and forcing two fumbles.

TOP SPECIALS TEAM PLAYER

Calgary punter/kicker Clinton Greathouse. He struggled in the strong north wind during his first visit to Canad Inns Stadium, blasting a four-yard punt almost into Section X. Sure, he missed a long field goal (55 yards) with the wind, but whatever. He still has a great name.

SMACK OF THE GAME

Not often known for his physical play, wideout Kamau (Kapow) Peterson blind-sided defensive back Nate Terry with 2:23 to go in the game. With Charles Roberts breaking a 49-yard run, Peterson lined up an unsuspecting Terry for a huge pop. Terry walked away woozy, and Peterson stayed down on the turf for a couple minutes before coming off on his own power.

KEY PLAY

With Calgary gaining momentum throughout the third quarter, the Bombers Eric Carter picked off a deep ball from Jones in front of the visitor's bench and ran it in untouched for a major. That made the score 24-16, and took the wind out of the Stamps sails.

HIGHLIGHT REEL

Jones showed incredible patience in the pocket all night, but his 17-yard strike to Wayne McGarity in the third quarter was classic Khari. He shook loose from the grasp of a couple Bomber defenders and found a wide-open McGarity in the corner of the end zone to bring Calgary within three.
